The following is a schedule for the 2017 Newport Art Deco Weekend.  Check the Event Page for other updates.

Friday, May 26th

6-9pm:               Arrival and Check-In (Register at Young Building – 518 Bellevue Ave. Newport, RI)

7-9pm                 Games, dancing, and socializing at the Fairlawn Estate

9-11pm:              GBVS Murder Mystery Night!  (There will be a second function room available for anyone who doesn’t want to participate in the Murder Mystery.)

Saturday, May 27th

8:30-10am:          Breakfast served (weekend guests only)

9-10am:               Registration for Day Guests (If arriving later, talk with a staff member about how to check in.)

10-11am:             Partner Charleston Dance Class (Jen/Daryl) or Beginner Foxtrot with Studio One

11am-12pm:       History and Secrets of the Newport Tower by Jim Egan curator of the Tower Museum

12 -2pm:             Picnic on the lawn, croquet and games provided (Bring your own lunch/accessories)

1 -2pm:               The Fairlawn Derby!  Followed by a group picture on the lawn.

2-3pm:                  A history of Jazz during the Art Deco Period by GBVS contributor Jason McCool

3-4pm:                  Beginner Swing Lesson (Rebecca/Aditya) or Advanced Lindy Hop Class (Jen/Daryl)

4-7pm:                  Time for changing and then dinner in downtown Newport

7-8pm:                  Providence Swings question/answer refresher class (Daryl/Jen)

8-11:30pm:          Black Tie Ball with Drew Nugent and the Midnight Society!  Performance by Hop to the Beat!

11:30pm-late:           DJ music and Socializing

Sunday, May 28th

8:30-10am:          Breakfast served (weekend guests only)

12:30pm:             Group sailing trip of Newport Harbor on the Madeline (see website here) Email “gbvintagesociety@gmail.com” to sign up for a discounted group ticket.

4-5pm                  Afternoon Tea at Viking Hotel click here (for those that can stay late–cost not included)
