1935 Open House at the Mary Baker Eddy Library! October 12th, Columbus Day!

Come celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Mary Baker Eddy Library with a re-creation of the 1935 Grand Opening of the Mapparium! The Mapparium is an amazing experience where you can step inside an illuminated 3D representation of the earth! GBVS is providing an exhibit at this event which is part of the Fenway Cultural District’s “Open Our Doors” program. The day includes: 1930’s cars, vintage dance performances by Boston Lindy Bomb Squad, a 1935 scavenger hunt, an actor portrayal of the Library’s 1935 architect, and free catered hors d’oeuvres reception for the first 60 guests that register! (please don’t register unless you are definite to attend) Check out the website for more info and look for the Eventbrite link to register for the reception. The open house itself does not require registration and everything is FREE!!!

WWII Victory Celebration Wrap-Up!

The WWII Victory Celebration was a “victorious” success!  What a great night, thank you all for coming out and thanks to all the wonderful sponsors, vendors, and volunteers that made this event happen! It was also a terrific turnout of veterans/active military and made even more special by the large number of WWII vets that were able to attend!  GBVS is very proud to be able to give a fitting tribute to the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII.  Below are links for a superb selection of photos and videos thanks to Tom Hagar and Chris Hugo.  Please contact GBVS before using any media.  Also click on the “Events” link above for more!  Looking forward to doing this again next year!
