Nor’Easter Island Summer Luau Aug 15th!

Time to get stoked! The Nor’Easter Luau is headed to the 1950’s for some classic car cruising at the “beach”. We welcome car collectors to join us in return for free admission (space limited), as we are entertained by the “Vista Cruisers” band! Enjoy an exciting evening of tropical cocktails, a full-catered buffet, music, dancing, and more at the “secret” GBVS HQ in Groveland, MA. We are putting together an outstanding cocktail/mocktail selection and we are excited to have Joe Rinaldi as our head bartender! You may know Joe from his work as bar manager at Wusong Road Tiki Bar in Boston. He is now working at another top-notch bar/restaurant in Quincy called “Pearl and Lime”.

All food, drink, and entertainment is included in the $60 admission! Buffet is provided by “Hawaiian Isle” of Plaistow, NH. The drink and buffet menu will be released soon. We’ve had great weather in the past with no problems with bugs or extreme heat. If we do need to change the date, the rain-date will be Sunday the 16th. Newport Jazz Age Weekend, July 17-19th!

Our website is updated for the 2026 Newport Jazz Age Weekend and tickets are now on sale. We have pushed the date into July this year as we’ve found June can be a bit chilly by the Newport seaside. We have an exemplary lineup of events for you: Friday night arrive to a welcome party social with FREE cocktails. Then Saturday, the Lawn Party begins featuring the Nouveau Jazz Band, and includes a “Golden Age of Flight” event theme with a make-your-own airplane flight contest. At night, a formal dinner at a gilded age mansion in downtown Newport, plus this venue is also host to the “Summer Shindig” vintage market brought to you by the Brighton Bazaar. GBVS Speakeasy Stroll – March 22nd!

Join us for a hush-hush pub crawl to some of the best “speakeasy’s” of Boston! The year is 1929 and up until recently, the stock market was raging out of control with no end in sight (…sound familiar?) Let’s put on our glad rags and enjoy life while we still can! We’ll start at an old favorite, “Carrie Nation” at 3:45pm and then head over to “Wig Shop”, and end our stroll by finding the secret passage way to “Yvonne’s” for dinner at 6pm.

Aside from the food/drinks you purchase, this is a FREE event, so please RSVP as soon as possible! Ideally we need to know by Monday 3/16. Doo-Wop Hop USO Show – April 25th!

Party like it’s 1953! The Korean War has ended and America is looking forward to get back to regular life. GBVS is partnering once again with the Fort Devens Museum for a dance at the historic War Memorial Hall of Shirley, MA. This year we celebrate our Korean War veterans with a USO-style dance featuring the Billy D and the Rock-its band. This 8-piece band plays the best hits of the Doo-Wop and early Rock and Roll age! To invite you to the floor we have a free dance lesson. Plus, the venue has a cash bar and the museum will be providing themed snacks and sandwiches. Nor’Easter Island is coming up quick! Feb 5-8th, 2026

We’re excited to bring you Year 2 of the Nor’Easter Island Tropical Weekend! We couldn’t be more pleased with how it is coming together. Thanks to our main sponsors Privateer and Hamilton Rum plus the tons of organizations helping out. Notable improvements this year include, a Thursday night Kick-off Party, an expanded Room Crawl, more presentations, 7 different bands, full 1940’s theme/immersion, Polynesian dance at the luau, an expanded vendor market, and more!

You don’t want to miss out on any of this! Tickets are going fast and please note that sales for the “Full Admission (with the luau) will close one week prior to the event. We urge you to stay at the hotel, but it will be an awesome experience either way!

The Smack Dabs specialize in good-time Swing Blues music from the 1930’s, featuring the songs of Tampa Red, Big Bill Broonzy, The Harlem Hamfats, and many others. This delightful and timeless genre features a rich variety of musical styles, ranging from mournful blues to joyful celebrations, setting the stage for incredible solo and group improvisations and delighting listening audiences and dancers alike.

The 1965 Experience at Sheraton Boston!

GBVS is pleased to have curated furniture, props, and decoration for the new “1965 Experience”! Travel back to the year Sheraton Boston first opened its doors, when the Beatles ruled the airwaves, and mid-century modern design defined the future. Now, six decades later, we invite you to relive the era with The 1965 Experience. This exclusive suite was curated by the Greater Boston Vintage Society and features mid-century furnishings, a vintage record player with a handpicked vinyl collection, AM Radio, and artifacts from the hotel’s opening.

The suite accommodates up to two overnight guests and includes a separate living area and a bedroom featuring one king bed. This would make a great winter escape and a nice surprise gift for the holidays! You can find full info at the link above.

Nor’Easter Island Tickets On Sale 10/1/25!

On Wednesday, Oct 1st at 7pm, sales begin for the Nor’Eater Island Topical Weekend! The Greater Boston Vintage Society welcomes you to Nor’Easter Island! The first and only immersive tropical weekend of New England! At our perfectly decorated hotel, enjoy an assortment of live bands, Tiki cocktails, classes, and vintage vendors, all culminating to a Grand Luau and dance on Saturday night. This year’s theme will take you to the 1940’s where you will find yourself immersed in a pre-war Pearl Harbor setting. We’re even more excited to bring you Dan Gabel’s “Stoptime Revue”, 7-piece orchestra! This is a very talented band in the style of Tommy Dorsey’s Clambake 7 and Count Basie’s Kansas City 7.

WWII Victory Dance May 10th!

GBVS is pleased to be working with the Ft. Devens Museum again as we bring you the WWII Victory Dance! 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII. As part of our “Saturday Night Swing out” series, this USO style dance will return to the authentic 1930’s dance hall in Shirley, MA. This year’s entertainment is the 19-piece Compaq Big Band!
