YNGR Poster 2
For April’s event we will be back at the Carrie Nation Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge.  This time we turn to the 1940’s to enjoy dinner, dancing and then a classic Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth film!

GBVS will once again take over the entire restaurant for a night of fun!  Dinner at 6pm, a dancing/cocktail break at 7pm, and the complimentary film at 8pm.  Preceeding the movie will be a period newsreel, both of which are on original 16mm film!  Price is only $45 and includes a three course meal!  More info can be found by clicking here.

To register send an email to “gbvintagesociety@gmail.com” with your name and the amount of people in your party.

See you at the movies!

GBVS: Ragtime Skate and Sledding….? February 6th 2016!

Ragtime Skate Sled

This year’s Ragtime Skate has been moved to Saturday, February 6th due to a weather postponement.  If there happens to be snow this time, we will bring a couple vintage toboggan sleds to enjoy following the skating!  Meet at the Kirrane Skating Rink, 1pm at Larz Anderson Park in Brookline.  Skating is $7 and rentals are only $6!  After the fun we will be heading to a local pub for drinks and possibly dinner.  See this link for full info about Saturday’s event:  http://www.facebook.com/events/1645846932343851

New GBVS Articles Section!

A new feature has been added to the website!  There now is an “Articles” section for members who would like to write something about the vintage clothing hobby.  I have provided a few example categories and have added our first story!  Make your voice heard and send a story for review to “gbvintagesociety@gmail.com”.

January’s article is a write-up by Margaret Park Bridges about her experience on the set of the new Ben Affleck 1920’s film recently shot in Boston!  CLICK HERE (or at the tab above) to view!
