This page is to provide information about the Newport Jazz Age Weekend “Day Ticket” option which can be purchased at the link above. The theme for this year’s event is: “The Golden Age of Flight: Soar with us on the cool breezes of Newport!”.  A 1920’s to 40’s outfit is suggested, but not required. Feel free to pair your outfit with our theme.  Doors open on Saturday at 10am. You can start setting up your picnic spot on the lawn and check out Founders Hall as well as the surrounding scenery/mansions. At that time we will also be giving out supplies for the GBVS Flyers paper airplane contest. If you are participating in the contest, make sure to have your creations ready by the 2:30pm contest. (Keep in mind that any glue used will need an hour to dry!)

At 12pm the lawn party picnic officially starts. Live music is being provided by the Nouveau Jazz Band. We are excited to introduce this new hot jazz band and we have plenty of room for dancing on the veranda! Beginners are welcome and there will be a free dance lesson at 11:30pm. There will also be vintage lawn games set up for all to enjoy and some picnic benches available first-come, first-serve. Starting at 2:30pm will be the GBVS Flyers contest for all to watch. The audience will vote for the winners of each category!  After the lawn party, you are welcome to head into town with us to check out the Brighton Bazaar’s vintage show. The Day Ticket admission is $35. Tickets are available at the link above and directions are found on our “Location Page“. Please park in the spaces around Founders hall (the yellow estate). If those are all taken, you can park in any of the spots around Carolyn house or Ochre Lodge on that same side of Ruggles Ave. If you have any questions, feel free to email us. The lawn party is open to all ages and you are welcome to bring any food/picnic items and chairs/small folding tables that you like (the more vintage the better of course!). There are a few large wooden picnic tables provided and they are first-come first-serve.

FYI, tickets are non-refundable but you can sell your ticket to another person.  Just let GBVS know who you plan to sell to so we can change the name.  Be aware there are a lot of scammers on Facebook and other social avenues that try to sell tickets that don’t exist. Contact us directly once you have a buyer in mind.
