NJAW HOME WEEKEND TICKETS DAY TICKETS SCHEDULE LOCATION
Each year of the Jazz Age Weekend we host a lawn party picnic. Last year was the first time we had a live band and it was a real hit! Our current location at Founders Hall, allows us a great dance floor on the porch right next to the lawn. Joining us for musical accompaniment this year is the Nouveau Jazz Band from Rhode Island. Dancing is open to all abilities and we will start the lawn party at noon with a free beginner swing lesson at 11:30am, no partner needed.
You can arrive and start setting up as early as 10am, Bring your lunch, picnic blanket, and your favorite treats to share on the nice grassy lawn. There’s just the right amount of shade so you won’t get burnt and bathrooms are located inside Founders Hall. If you are just here for the day, feel free to walk around the Salve Regina campus and check out the different mansions.
Also, at 10am we will be handing out materials for the “GBVS Flyers” contest. Sponsored by Guillow’s Model Aircraft, this will be an open design flight contest for all. Paper, cardboard, balsa, and glue will be available for your use. Guillow’s will also be donating some of their flying toys for guests to have fun with (only self-made aircraft can be used in the contest.) At 12pm the lawn party picnic officially starts. Contestants will be putting the finishing details on their creations and then at 2:30pm we’ll begin the GBVS Flyers contest for all to watch. The audience will vote for the winners of each category – ‘Longest Flight’ and ‘Most Creative’. Click below to check out Guillow’s website!

At 4pm, you are welcome to head into town with us to check out the Brighton Bazaar’s vintage show which will be open till 6pm. A detailed list of activities can be found on the Newport “schedule” page and head to our “location” page for full directions and parking info.
