Normally a 1920’s themed speakeasy, the White Lightning Ball has progressed to the mid-1930’s. The depression has finally slowed and this year we celebrate a grand feat, the End of Prohibition! Get ready for a spectacular evening that includes: swing music by “Amy Kucharik and Friends”, dancing, a period casino with “gambling” games, hors d’oeuvres, full cash bar, access to the entire Larz Anderson Museum collection, vintage vendors, performances, and more!
Come early for the free dance lesson by Providence Swings of RI and to shop the vintage vendors. Period attire encouraged. Tickets can be purchased on the Larz Anderson website by clicking HERE or on the photo above!
We have some really great photos from this year’s Winter Formal! This is thanks to our photo booth cameraman Tom Hagar and our roaming photographers Michael Rose (of Michael Rose Photography) and Joan Jasset (A Timeless Collection). Check out their work below:

GBVS is helping promote a new act coming to Boston, the “Vaughn Monroe Show”! This is a tribute show to the great bandleader of the 1940’s. Dan Gabel of the Abletones Band has put together this 24-piece ensemble show featuring music, the Moon Maids vocal group, comedy sketches, and vintage ads.
GBVS members will be attending in their 1940’s outfits. This will make for a very authentic feel in the historic Somerville Theater! Come dressed up or not, there’s no requirement. This is a fun show for the whole family and will have a special discount for our veterans on this holiday weekend. The event will end at Charlie’s Kitchen for drinks and food after. See you there!
It’s time once again for the Roaring Twenties Lawn Party at the Crane Estate! This year you have the option of attending one or two days on the weekend of August 5th and 6th. GBVS will be there again supporting the Vintage Vendor Fair and Antique Autos.
The Estate has greatly improved the landscaping in the last couple of years so check it out if you haven’t attended recently. Also, there is an option for house tours during the event this year. Don’t delay in getting your ticket, there’s a good chance it may sell out! Click the image to go to the Roaring Twenties website.
