Peabody Essex Museum’s “High Life: A 1920’s Bash!”

MK4647_PEMPM_April2017_Poster_Finalis excited to partner with the Peabody Essex Museum for their monthly PEM/PM series.  This Thursday night event will be tribute to the 1920’s filled with dancing, drinks, performances, displays, games, and more!  Headlining the entertainment is the Wolverine Jazz Band!  Click the image at left to be taken to their website and ticket info.  This will be a entertaining night.  Come early to explore the museum and their current new exhibit, “World of Wearable Art”!

Newport Art Deco Weekend! May 26-28th!

Initial details have just been released for this year’s Art Deco Weekend!  There is a lot of excitement building this year and for good reason!  Salve Regina has added a second estate that we can stay in!  You can stay in the Fairlawn Estate or try out Wallace Hall just across the way.  Plus this year we have secured an amazing band, “Drew Nugent and the Midnight Society” from Philadelphia!  And for those staying the whole weekend, Friday night we are hosting the first-ever GBVS murder mystery party inside the mansion!  Do not miss this haunting evening!!!

GBVS Winter Formal January 8th!

The Winter Formal is back January 8th!  This 1940’s formal event will bring us the entire 18-piece Dan Gabel and the Abletones Band to the exquisite Carrie Nation Restaurant! Ticket price includes one alcoholic beverage as well as tasty hors d’oeuvres! Plus, there will be a free dance lesson, performances, and a special contest with prizes by Salmagundi Hats! Cabinet of Curiosities “Unrolling Egyptomania” October 27th

ueGBVS is proud to announce a new event being planned with Boston University’s Archeology Department! In perfect timing for the season, they will be having a special gala featuring a Victorian era themed “mummy enrolling”. Don’t be alarmed, this is not the real thing, but a reenactment of events and a lecture which is sure to give you compelling insight to the grotesque fascinations of the age.

This intimate evening is sponsored by BU for an affordable admission price but act now as tickets are going fast! The evening will also include a display of Egyptian artifacts from the Gabel museum and light hors d’oeuvres and drinks. Plus, the night’s entertainment will take place at the BU “Castle” a 19th-century Tudor style mansion! Click the above picture for tickets/info.

Next GBVS Event: Doo Wop Hop, Oct 8th!

Poster 8-24-16 ReducedThis just in!  GBVS will hosting a 1950’s sock hop to knock your socks off!  Saturday October 8th, at the Bishop Mackenzie Center in Newton, MA we will have a night of 1950’s excitement provided by the amazing Doo Wop Deville Band!  Come early for the car show and vendors, then get dinner with friends and come back for the free dance lesson at 7pm.  Doo Wop Deville goes on at 8pm.  We will have a great selection of antique autos, vendors, and themed activities!  More info to come, look for an announcement soon with the official website and Facebook page!
