GBVS: Ragtime Skate and Sledding….? February 6th 2016!

Ragtime Skate Sled

This year’s Ragtime Skate has been moved to Saturday, February 6th due to a weather postponement.  If there happens to be snow this time, we will bring a couple vintage toboggan sleds to enjoy following the skating!  Meet at the Kirrane Skating Rink, 1pm at Larz Anderson Park in Brookline.  Skating is $7 and rentals are only $6!  After the fun we will be heading to a local pub for drinks and possibly dinner.  See this link for full info about Saturday’s event:  http://www.facebook.com/events/1645846932343851

New GBVS Articles Section!

A new feature has been added to the website!  There now is an “Articles” section for members who would like to write something about the vintage clothing hobby.  I have provided a few example categories and have added our first story!  Make your voice heard and send a story for review to “gbvintagesociety@gmail.com”.

January’s article is a write-up by Margaret Park Bridges about her experience on the set of the new Ben Affleck 1920’s film recently shot in Boston!  CLICK HERE (or at the tab above) to view!

Tweed Ramble! Saturday October 17th!

R

What’s a ramble? The Boston Tweed Group is trying something different this year. They realize that many people want to participate in a tweed event, but not all own a bike. So aside from their official tweed ride event (on Oct 24th) they’ve put together a vintage “ramble” (a walk, picnic, etc) through the historic countryside of Concord, MA. Starting at the Concord Visitor Center, we will cross the North Bridge, have a picnic at the Old Manse, see Sleepy Hollow Cemetery and more! Come join us for this fun free event! Full info can be found at the link below.
