We welcome you join us for a vintage movie night at the GBVS headquarters of Groveland, Mass. Starting at 6:30pm we will be serving cocktails/drinks and snacks. Socialize at the J+J Cafe or peruse the vintage clothing for sale upstairs in the gallery. Then at sundown (8pm) we will take in the rare 1942 film, “Pittsburg” staring Marlene Dietrich, John Wayne, and Randolf Scott. This original 16mm projector film will be preceded by a newsreel or short.

Being the “swinging sixties” we will have a swing dance lesson at the beginning of the night and live music from the Wolverine Jazz Band. Newport is back!!! ….with one small change. We are now the “Newport Jazz Age Weekend“. Same great event, just a more appropriate name! This year we have a special lineup and a great theme. Celebrate Juneteenth weekend with us as we pay tribute to “The History and Influence of Black American Culture in Jazz and Swing”. All weekend we will have talks and dance classes lead by NYC instructor Odysseus Bailer!

Between classes on Saturday we will have our traditional lawn party picnic and activities. Then get ready for a really special Black-Tie Ball headlined by “Taryn Newborne and the Real Deal”!!! This band knows how to play for dancers and will be perfect for enjoying what you learned in class.
