Newport Art Deco Weekend!

Activities for the Newport Art Deco Weekend are firmed up and you will not want to miss this exciting event! The overnight package has sold out, but there are still tickets for the Saturday “day tickets” which allow you to attend on Friday night and Sunday as well. You can make your own exciting weekend experience by booking a room at one of the many beautiful Inns and B&B’s in the area!
1940’s Dinner Theater Night! April 17th

For April’s event we will be back at the Carrie Nation Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge. This time we turn to the 1940’s to enjoy dinner, dancing and then a classic Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth film!
GBVS will once again take over the entire restaurant for a night of fun! Dinner at 6pm, a dancing/cocktail break at 7pm, and the complimentary film at 8pm. Preceeding the movie will be a period newsreel, both of which are on original 16mm film! Price is only $45 and includes a three course meal! More info can be found by clicking here.

White Lightning Photos!
This year’s White Lightning Ball was another sold-out roaring good time! Thanks to everyone who was able to attend. The night was filled with great dancing and wonderful outfits! Tyna of Vintage Girl Studios was our official photographer for the evening and she put together a terrific photo album. Click the photo below for pics!

GBVS: Ragtime Skate and Sledding….? February 6th 2016!

This year’s Ragtime Skate has been moved to Saturday, February 6th due to a weather postponement. If there happens to be snow this time, we will bring a couple vintage toboggan sleds to enjoy following the skating! Meet at the Kirrane Skating Rink, 1pm at Larz Anderson Park in Brookline. Skating is $7 and rentals are only $6! After the fun we will be heading to a local pub for drinks and possibly dinner. New GBVS Articles Section!
A new feature has been added to the website! There now is an “Articles” section for members who would like to write something about the vintage clothing hobby. I have provided a few example categories and have added our first story! Make your voice heard and send a story for review to “gbvintagesociety@gmail.com”.
